AI Receptionist That Works Inside Dentrix

Skrypt Health connects to your Dentrix system to read your live schedule and provider availability, then books appointments and writes patient notes directly back — without your front desk picking up the phone.

Dentrix is one of the most widely-used dental practice management systems, owned by Henry Schein One. Skrypt Health integrates via the Dentrix API to provide bidirectional data sync.

What the integration enables

Everything that used to require a phone call, handled automatically.

Live Dentrix schedule reads
Skrypt Health reads your Dentrix appointment book in real time — available slots, provider schedules, operatory availability — so callers always hear accurate options.
Direct appointment booking
Skrypt Health books appointments directly into Dentrix with the correct provider, appointment type, duration, and patient details. No staff entry, no clipboard handoff.
New patient record creation
For new patients, Skrypt Health collects demographic and insurance information and creates or pre-populates the patient record in Dentrix before the appointment.
Recall and reactivation outreach
Skrypt Health reads your Dentrix recall lists and contacts overdue patients automatically via voice and SMS, then books them and updates recall status in Dentrix.
Treatment plan follow-up
Patients with incomplete treatment plans in Dentrix are contacted by Skrypt Health to schedule the remaining procedures, with bookings written directly back.
After-hours call handling
After-hours callers are handled with full Dentrix context — the AI can book next-day appointments using tomorrow's schedule pulled live from Dentrix.

FAQ

Common questions about the Dentrix integration.

Does Skrypt Health work with Dentrix Ascend (cloud) and Dentrix G-series (desktop)?

Skrypt Health supports both Dentrix Ascend (cloud-based) and Dentrix G-series (desktop/server) installations. The connection method differs slightly between versions — Ascend uses cloud API credentials, while G-series uses a local API bridge — but both are supported and configured by our onboarding team during implementation.

What Dentrix data does Skrypt Health read and write?

Skrypt Health reads appointment slots, provider availability, appointment types, and existing patient records. It writes new appointments, appointment notes, patient demographics for new records, and recall status updates. We access only the minimum data required to complete each workflow, and all access is logged and auditable through the Client Hub Portal.

Can Skrypt Health handle same-day emergency appointments in Dentrix?

Yes. For emergency callers, Skrypt Health checks your live Dentrix schedule for same-day openings and books accordingly. If no same-day openings exist, the AI offers the next available slot, adds the caller to a cancellation waitlist, or escalates to a staff member — based on your configuration. Emergency triage logic differentiates urgent dental pain from routine calls.

Is the Dentrix integration HIPAA compliant?

Yes. Skrypt Health is fully HIPAA and PHIPA compliant and we sign Business Associate Agreements with all practice customers. Data exchanged with Dentrix is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3. Patient records are accessed on a minimum-necessary basis, and all data handling policies are documented in our BAA and privacy documentation.
